QUESTION What are the benefits of a certification through your organization?
ANSWER There are numerous benefits to certification with ASASP, but just to name a few:

                (1) ASASP is an independent (disinterested) organization/agency that verifies qualification (s) of the security practitioner to perform a specific job.

                (2) ASASP Individual Certification Program (ICP) is transferable nationwide to other organization/agencies. Membership into a professional organization that is committed to professionalizing the security practitioner—not just fee, but based on acquired and verified training achievement.

                (3) ASASP cost for ICP itself in a benefit, because other similar certification will exceed $200.00.

                (4) Quarterly news letter for members.

                (5) Referral bonus (program) payment of $25.00 when four (4) individuals join ASASP based on a member's referral.     

 

   
QUESTION Do I have to be a member of AsAsP for certification?
ANSWER No, membership is free compared to other professional organizations that charge in excess of a $100.00.
   
QUESTION Is AsAsP certification (ICP) recognized by any large corporation, or governmental agency, etc?
ANSWER No not yet, ASASP,LLC is a new company—the first of its type to certify the security practitioner based on acquired training and requires annual re-certification. Although we have not received endorsement from a major corporation or the government, it is expected to be forthcoming in the near future.
   
QUESTION I am qualified for numerous occupations/security disciplines, so how many certifications do I need?
ANSWER AsAsP Certification is designed to validate training and qualification for a single security discipline/occupation, for example

                        AsAsP CERTIFIED (Security Guard, Security Officer, Correctional Officer, etc.)
                        AsAsP CERTIFIED Security Specialist (Personnel, Industrial, Information, SAP, etc.)
                        AsAsP CERTIFIED Security Officer
                        AsAsP CERTIFIED Physical Security Specialist
                        AsAsP CERTIFIED Facility Security Officer
                        AsAsP CERTIFIED Loss Prevention Officer

*NOTE-Type of certification requested must be specified and all supporting documentation provided and verified.  A Security Officer Certification can be granted if the candidate has training / qualification for five or more security specialty skills (at least 24 hours in each discipline).

   
QUESTION Do ASASP provide any training or testing for candidate to qualify for a AsAsP Certification?
ANSWER No, ASASP do not provide training or testing that support the certification process, however we investigate/verify all training that the individual contend he or she has completed. AsAsP certification cannot be purchased by passing a test that is offered by our company, instead we allow the individual to utilize all available training to validate his/her qualifications.  

*NOTE: Organizations and institutions prescribe course/class standards as required by their governing educational body for their organization/institution and they establishes pass/fail criteria for their course/class which includes may include testing.

   
QUESTION Is there a national criteria that defines the amount of training for qualification as a security professionals? 
ANSWER Currently, there is not an industry accepted criteria that defines the amount of training for qualification. ASASP is leading the way with the establishment of a baseline training standard for qualification. 

*NOTE: Generally speaking, each state, federal or certifying organization prescribe their standards for training, however their training in most cases is not transferable outside the organization as qualification standard. Nor organization is performing third party (independent) oversight of the training until now -- ASASP.

   
QUESTION Is certification of an individual determined by a company board? 
ANSWER We do not have a members board that is dedicated to certify an individual, however the certification process involves an assortment of internal/external personnel and agencies to achieve verification.  
QUESTION How do you know if an individual is certified by ASASP, LLC?
ANSWER He/She will indicated their certification by placing AsAsP at the end of their name.
   
QUESTION Is ASAP, LLC affiliated with any other well known security company or organization that performs certification which are identified by letters at the end of a persons name?
ANSWER No, ASASP is an independent security oversight company.
