Text Box: AsAsP Individual Certification Program objectives are achieved by an aggressive certification program that verifies compliance with established baseline training requirements and state laws.  Although certification is designed or centered around validation achievement of baseline standards and state laws, other factors such as, work history in performance of security duties and conduct off duty (law abiding citizen) could be considered in the validation process. 
 Individual AsAsP certification program is divided into three major professional competencies:  
¨        Armed security professional (security guard or officer).
¨        Un-armed security professional (security guard or officer). 
¨        Other security professional (physical, information, personnel, loss prevention, etc.).
 

Text Box:  AsAsP Certification Criteria: 
¨ Currently working as a security professional. 
¨ Currently working as a police officer.
¨ Completed a criminal justice degree program or security based training program that has over 30 semester hours in security or police operations.
¨ Former security professional with satisfactory work history.
 

Text Box:  Training Qualifications (The following training requirements identified in the requirement chart are mandatory to obtain and maintain certification):
¨ 30 credit hours for armed security professional (Initial Training)
¨ 24 credit hours for un-armed security professional (Initial Training)
¨ 18 credit hours for armed security professional (Annual Training)
¨ 12 credit hours for un-armed security professional (Annual Training)
*Note- Initial Training is that training or education that qualified the individual for the security position/specialty and Annual Training is the training that reinforces, enhances, or provides additional security skills that are directly related to the security profession.  

Text Box:  AsAsP Certification Process:  The verification process begins with the initial registration and membership accreditation/certification fee. 
Step 1, the individual attends training from a recognized (approved) training school, institution/university, or security company program facility.
Step 2, the individual will provide training records (transcript, training certificates, or signed company records) to AsAsP at the following address:  Mail To: ASASP, LLC P.O. Box 25219, Fayetteville, NC 28314 or Email To:  admin@asaspllc.com  Fax To: (910) 864-3411  
Step 3, AsAsP will verify the training records and accept or reject the records pending further verification (transcript, training certificates, or signed company records). When training records are rejected due to verification problems, the candidate will be notified in writing of the problem(s) affecting adjudication of the records.
 Step 4, AsAsP will ensure compliance with the minimum standards as specified by states laws regarding minimum training requirements, however AsAsP minimum training standards must be achieved to obtain and maintain a AsAsP Certification. 
 Step 5, AsAsP will sign documentation (certificate) attesting compliance with the minimum standards and forward final processing action to the individual and the employer if applicable. 

Text Box: Cycle of Continued Evaluation for ASASP Certification of an Individual:  
    The AsAsP certification described above is an initial accreditation/certification process which is valid for only one year—annual certification is required. Each year the cycle of evaluation will be repeated (refresher training), however the accreditation/certification training requirements and cost will be reduced.  Note-certification must be maintained in good standing (current) or the initial training requirement will be enacted as the standard.

Capabilities

AsAsP has a professional team that serves as an advocate for the successful certification of all potential candidates.  Our capabilities in support of the individual certification program are primarily an administrative function.  

 Administrative Staff:

An administrative staff is dedicated to assist all candidates in achieving and maintaining certification standards.  Our administrative staff is responsive to our customers’ and primarily communicates with them through email; however traditional communication methods such as telephone, snail mail, and faxes are available.   AsAsP administrative staff is equipped with all the appropriate office equipment and computer software support our customers needs.

Coordination with Organizations/Agencies:

AsAsP have established numerous external relationships with organizations, agencies, and educational institutions to facilitate an accurate validation process.  Also, these relationships provide an opportunity to share security related information.   

On-site Validation of Training for Certification

AsAsP provides a mobile team to validate internal training being accomplished for mass certification—the mobile team conducts on-site assessments of qualification training.
